Meet the Willow and Bridge Team

Our Creative Family

Teresa

CEO/Creator

Teresa is a crafter in search of inner peace and spiritual harmony. She is the mother of two young men—part scientist, part artist, part wonderer, and a whole lot Bohemian. She has been practicing yoga and expressing herself through crafts since she was a teenager—and as an adult, she also nurtures a small garden by the sea—she enjoys the natural wonders of life and the energy that she receives in these pursuits.  They provide her with a deep sense of inner peace and allow her to express herself in ways that are meaningful to her and that allow her to share her love of life and simple pleasures with other humans.

After a 25+ year career as an  Epidemiologist at an international BioPharma company, Teresa lost her husband of 30 years to Leukemia. It was after this life-altering event that she decided to more purposefully pursue her interest in crafting and holistic health. Teresa comes from a linage of crafters. Her mother knits and embroiders, her two aunts paint and knit, her great aunt was an intricate beader, and her great grandfather was a master tailor while her great grandmother would crochet.

Cherie

Creator

Cherie is a woman of many trades. She’s a scientist, a gardener, and she will knit, weave, and dye just about anything. Cherie didn’t start knitting until she went to college and she has been knitting on and off since then. She views kitting as a good skill to have that one can find peace in. She thinks it’s especially useful once Christmas time comes around. She mainly enjoys working with the different yarns and fibers as they are all so unique. She finds multicolor yarn to be motivating as she strives to reach the next color. Cherie joined Willow and Bridge to knit a lot more and to challenge herself by working with different patterns/materials that she might not wear herself. Something interesting about Cherie is that when he travels, she will go to a local yarn store and then knit a pair of socks from that select location so she can say that she has socks from different cities.

Hannah

Creator

Hannah has been a crafter for her entire life. There isn’t much that Hannah cannot do. She has picked up many crafts during different time periods of her life. She paints, weaves, knits, sews, spins, dyes, eco botanical prints, and many other crafts. Hannah is a crafter purely for the enjoyment of the creative process. She is always experimenting with new materials and trying to improve her technique. Once she feels she has perfected her technique, she will try to pick up a new craft and learn that process. Hannah believes that “if someone wants something that you made then they appreciate your work rather than you are making it specifically for them,” and this is why the creative process is so important to her. Hannah is currently trying to perfect the art of natural dyeing. Since Hannah grows her own food and has pet chickens, each week when she is gathering her food, she also looks for any materials she could possibly use a dye to create new products.

Charlotte

Creator

Charlotte comes from a long line for crafters. She has been embroidering and sewing for 45 years and has been knitting for about 16 years. She enjoys embroidering the most, but it became too hard on her hands. Before Charlotte's first child was born, she ended up taking a sowing class. She used the skills she in the class to make clothes for her children and her grandchildren when they were little. Charlotte hardly ever knits for herself. She currently only knits for her grandchildren, especially around the holidays. She now crafts because it is relaxing for her. She likes to keep busy doing something, and she has grown a real love for the craft. Charlotte joined the Willow and Bridge family because she believes it is nice to do something for a great cause.

Edith

Creator

Before Edith became a crafter, she was a bookkeeper for a lawyer. Right before she was about to retire, she was inspired by some products in her local store. She saw ornaments hanging on a display, and she said to herself “I can do this!” She admits that she was rusty but after 22 years of crafting, she has perfected her technique. Edith knew that she always had a creative side to her. She worked with a local school that had themed monthly fundraisers. This fundraiser consists of each group decorating their table, according to the theme, in a creative way. Edith’s creativity helped her group win several times. Edith is a creator because she likes the results of her work. She is overjoyed knowing that people like her ornaments, but she also finds making them quite relaxing. Edith has become apart of Willow and Bridge because she felt it was a great cause. Edith sells some of her ornaments in local stores and also donates a portion of her revenue to a charity for battered women.

Laura

Creator

Laura has been creating things for many years. She beads, knits, and crochets, but her favorite of the three is knitting. She enjoys experimenting with different patterns making sweaters, hats, scarves, and dresses. Laura learned to knit from her mother when she was only a little girl. She mainly crafted because it relaxed her but decided to join Willow and Bridge to be able to donate to charity. Laura recently started doing ceramics and has created an entire Christmas village by herself.
